The Caribbean, but primarily Turks and Caicos, with its expanse of shallow water flats is home to an abundance of conch and one of the world’s few conch farms.

The Caicos Conch Farm, located at the eastern tip of Provo is one of only a few conch farms in the world.  Covering almost a quarter mile of shallow flats are circular pens that house conch in various stages of their life cycle.  Most of the conch sold from this farm are sold in the U.S. since local dining establishment rely on local fisherman for their daily catch.

Located in Providenciales, Turks and CaicosConch farming has become increasingly important to meet the growing demand for conch meat and shells without further endangering the species.

Annual Turks and Caicos Conch Festival
